As result of the excessive heat during the summer of 2018 the organ suffered serious damage to the wooden components in the organ soundboard, which dried out and cracked. Some notes have ceased to sound and others disconcertedly sound on their own with no interference from the organist! The organ now needs repairs costing £3000.

 The proceeds of the concert will go a long towards paying for the repairs which we are assured will make the organ sound for another 100 years.
